Our Story
StoreYourBoard was built from passion for board sports. In 2009, frustrated by a lack of home storage options for his collection of boards, Josh Gordon turned to his mechanical engineering background to build his first storage rack. The resulting product worked so well that Josh decided to market and sell the rack.
The only problem was that none of the existing brick and mortar or online retailers were interested. So, Josh did what any entrepreneurial, impassioned individual would do: he built a website. The website led to increasing sales, new designs, and growing excitement from fellow ‘boarders. Before long, he had to move from basement to warehouse to accommodate the rocketing production, as well as hire StoreYourBoard’s first employees.
The booming home organization industry provided an unprecedented opportunity for growth. StoreYourBoard was featured on Inc. Magazine’s Inc. 5000 2021, which recognizes the 5,000 fastest growing companies in the United States. With the help of first-class customer service and fulfillment teams, what was once a basement startup is now a thriving business with hundreds of products shipped across the country and worldwide from its headquarters in Troy, Virginia.
Storage Tips and advice
How to Choose Household Storage Hooks for Every Space
The best household storage hooks depend on three things: weight capacity, wall type, and whether you can drill. The main categories are wall-mounted hooks, adhesive hooks, over-the-door hooks, and heavy-duty garage hooks. Match the hook to the job, and you'll have a cleaner, more accessible space in under an hour.
Storage hooks are one of the easiest upgrades you can make at home. They cost little, install fast, and immediately free up floor and counter space. Whether you live in a suburban house with a full garage or a city apartment in NYC or LA with limited square footage, the right hooks make your space work harder for you.
How to Store a Paddle Board in an Apartment or Small Space
The best paddle board storage options for apartments are vertical wall mounts, ceiling hoists, and inflatable SUPs stored deflated in a closet or under the bed. These solutions save floor space and keep your board protected between sessions.
How to Store a Mountain Bike in Your Garage
The best way to store a mountain bike in your garage is to get it off the floor using a wall-mounted rack, ceiling system, or freestanding stand. Each option protects your bike, saves space, and keeps your garage clear. The right choice depends on your available space and how often you ride.
